Alpha Building and Constructions has transformed a traditional ‘Queenslander’ style home into a modern masterpiece in the leafy Brisbane suburb of Wooloowin. The 1940s home underwent a complete renovation and extension process, resulting in a stunning residence that blends traditional charm with modern conveniences.

The renovation was planned and executed with careful consideration to maximise the social areas of the home, including the kitchen, dining, and informal sitting areas. The result is a beautifully renovated home that offers both functionality and aesthetics.

A spacious lower level connects stylish bedrooms and relaxing areas via a beautifully crafted timber interior staircase. There are multiple spaces upstairs to relax or work, including a media room, study, and outdoor area that overlooks the street. The master retreat is classy and uncomplicated, with a luxurious ensuite and a large walk-in robe.

The modern layout features high ceilings, tall windows, and skylights that capture natural light and cool breezes, creating bright and airy living throughout.

Carefully chosen materials help maintain the street’s character, while modern components such as aluminium framed windows were added for easy maintenance. Landscape works completed the transformation, including refurbishing a pre-existing rectangular pool.

The striking residence now has a new presence on the street, establishing a stronger connection to the neighbourhood. The project’s success can be attributed to the ingenious manner in which the interior rooms and spaces interconnect with one another and the outdoor landscape, resulting in enhanced functionality and aesthetic appeal.
